★ UPDATE 2.13.1 — HOSTILITY

Your rank now opens up targets instead of taking them away. Inside your own rank you may strike anyone — but the sector will remember whom you pick.

✦ IN SHORT

Attack access is set by your own rank, not by the target's. The higher you climb, the wider the circle of players you can touch.
Inside your own rank there is no ban any more. A weak target can be attacked, the flight will go through.
But it raises your hostility. The more helpless the target, the more it raises.
A hostile player takes more: more is carried off his planets, fights against him award more points, his collider is stripped sooner, he can hide his fleet for less time — and far more people are allowed to hit him.
Hostility fades on its own after a week without violations.
The right of revenge bypasses every restriction and adds no hostility.

⚔ 1 · Attack access now comes from your rank

Access used to be set by the target's rank. Now it is set by yours. The two measures are the same: weapons and battle power.

Colonist — the target may be weaker in weapons by up to 1.25 times, in battle power by up to 1.1
Founder — weapons up to 1.25, power up to 1.1
Governor — weapons up to 1.5, power up to 1.2
Consul — weapons up to 2, power up to 1.3
Ruler — weapons up to 3, power up to 1.4
Overlord — weapons up to 4, power up to 1.5

Example. Your weapons are 1000. As a Colonist you reach targets from 800 (1000 ÷ 1.25), as an Overlord from 250 (1000 ÷ 4).

⚑ 2 · No ban inside your own rank

A target that was too weak simply did not open before. Now inside your own rank the flight always goes through — even if the target is below your power clearance.

The target is below your power clearance. The flight will go through, but your hostility level will rise.

Striking below your rank is still not allowed — except when you hold the right of revenge.

☢ 3 · Hostility: what it costs

The price of a flight comes from two things: what kind of flight it was, and how much weaker the target was.

What a flight costs

Attack — 5 · Joint attack — 3 · Moon destruction10 · Hold — 5

How helpless the target is

• Its power up to 10% of yours (nothing to answer with)full price
• Up to 50% — half the price
• Roughly an equal opponent — a fifth
Stronger than you — a tenth

Repeat flights against the same player

A second and third run against the same person cost less than the first: an attack goes 5 → 3 → 1, a moon destruction 10 → 7.7 → 5.3 → 3. But every new victim costs the full price — what costs most is not a long feud with one player, but the habit of picking ever new defenceless ones.

The repeat counter fades on its own: come back to the same player after a few days and the price is full again.

Strikes against those who have not logged in for over a week do not count at all. Neither does the right of revenge.

▲ 4 · Six stages

Neutrality — under 10 points
Wariness — from 10
Hostility — from 20
Open enmity — from 35
War — from 55
Martial law — from 80

To get a feel for it. One helpless victim a day holds you at the second stage, two a day at the fourth, three at the fifth.

Points fade evenly and by themselves: a week without violations and you are neutral again. But every new violation restarts that week, and it restarts for everything you have accumulated.

⛬ 5 · What it costs you

Carried off your planets
50% → 57% → 64% → 71% → 78% → 85%

War points for a fight against you
normal → ×1.25 → ×1.5 → ×1.75 → ×2.25 → ×3

Your collider is stripped after
4 h → 4 h → 3 h → 3 h → 2 h → 1 h

You can hide your fleet for no longer than
36 h → 24 h → 18 h → 14 h → 10 h → 8 h

Access against a hostile player is wider. With every stage more people can reach him. At the fifth stage you can be hit by those who could not reach you before.

The stage is visible to everyone — a mark next to the name in the galaxy, on the player card and in the revenge list.

⚖ 6 · The right of revenge

ATTENTION! After the fleet is sent, the target will have the right of revenge against you.

If you have been attacked, you may strike back at that player even if he is outside your access. The right lasts 24 hours. The more hostile the attacker is, and the more often he came after you in particular, the longer it lasts — up to three days.

A flight by right of revenge adds no hostility to you.

✉ 7 · Where to look

The section opens from the galaxy — the Revenge button in the top row, next to Espionage. It has two tabs:

Revenge — whom you can strike back at and how much time is left.
Hostility — your stage, how many points you have accumulated, when they run out, and what the next stage brings.

In the galaxy itself a stage mark stands next to a hostile player's name — hover over it to see the name of the stage.
