On this page
To avoid getting banned for no reason, it’s important to know the rules of Xterium. Here are the key points from the official rules explained in simple terms, along with the unwritten etiquette among players. The complete official rules are always available at ru.xterium.com/rules.
Where does this information come from? The official rules are from the game rules page (ru.xterium.com/rules). Unwritten rules come from the player wiki (community etiquette, not official game mechanics). Please contact technical support for clarification on any disputed issues: support@xterium.com.
Who keeps things in order?
- Moderator — reviews technical support requests and can block users in the general chat.
- Game Master — handles technical support requests.
- Chat moderator — issues penalties for violations of chat and communication rules.
Karma and Chat Blocking
Violations in the chat result in a ban (mute), and the duration of the ban increases automatically based on "karma":
3 times for 10 minutes → 3 times for 1 hour → 3 times for 3 hours → 3 times for 1 day, and so on.
Your karma improves if you don't break the rules for a week. The operator and moderator do not set the timeframe manually—it is determined by the system.
Main Rules of the Game
The most serious ones, for which you can actually get banned:
- One account per universe. Multiple accounts in a single universe (multi-accounting) → all accounts will be banned. In different universes — allowed.
- If players are playing from the same computer or IP address, please notify technical support. Such players are not allowed to fight each other, share resources, or send missions to one another.
- "Boosting" at the expense of others—such as collusion, transferring resources from lower-ranked users to higher-ranked ones, or artificially inflating statistics through collusion—is prohibited.
- Transferring or selling accounts, as well as trading in-game resources for real money, is prohibited.
- Flights to another planet lasting more than 5 hours one way are prohibited without the player's consent; attacks carried out "just to annoy" without any strategic purpose are prohibited.
- Scripts, bots, and exploiting game bugs are prohibited. On the other hand, reporting a critical bug to the administration is rewarded.
- Hacking and account theft are strictly prohibited; stolen items will not be returned.
"Monitoring" another player's account is permitted only with the owner's consent: you may save the fleet and resources, but you may not attack, go on expeditions, or spend resources (no more than 3 visits per 24 hours, no more than once every 3 days).
Chat Rules
The following are prohibited in the general chat and in private messages:
- swear words, veiled swear words, insults;
- spam, flooding, all-caps, off-topic posts, trolling;
- begging and trading for real money;
- advertising other websites and mentioning competing games;
- fraud, phishing for usernames and passwords, impersonating site administrators;
- incitement to hatred, politics, prohibited symbols, threats, and third-party personal data.
Unwritten rules for players (etiquette)
In addition to official rules, the community has its own agreements “to make the game enjoyable.” A well-known example is the “Moon Demolition” agreement: active players should not demolish moons, and if a moon is accidentally demolished, alliances should negotiate compensation with one another.
⚠️ Important: According to the player wiki, this agreement is currently inactive—most alliances have stopped adhering to it. We are including it here as an example of community etiquette; please follow your alliance’s current agreements.
Where to Go
If you have any questions or your account has been blocked, please contact technical support at support@xterium.com. All account-related issues are resolved exclusively with the account owner.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I have multiple accounts on Xterium? In a single universe—no, that's considered spamming and could result in all accounts being blocked. In different universes—it's allowed.
Why do they block the chat? For profanity, spam, flooding, all-caps posts, advertising, fraud, and insults. The duration increases based on "karma": from 10 minutes to 24 hours, and longer for repeat offenses.
Is it okay to sell an account or resources for money? No. Transferring or selling accounts and trading resources for real money are prohibited and subject to penalties.
Is the “Lunonos Agreement” still in effect? According to the player wiki, this isn't the case right now; most alliances don't follow it. This is an example of unwritten etiquette, not an official rule.
