Resources are the foundation of Xterium’s economy; the entire game revolves around them. Metal, crystal, and deuterium are used to construct buildings, ships, and defenses; energy powers mines and structures; special resources unlock premium features; and points reflect a player’s progress.

All of the game's resources are grouped here: basic resources—metal, crystal, and deuterium (mined from mines); energy and science; special resources—dark matter, antimatter, stardust, and mods; and pointsachievements and experience.

It’s important to understand how this works: science isn’t wasted—the more you have, the faster research progresses in the lab. Energy works as a balancing factor: when there’s a shortage, mining on the planet drops. Stellar ore is found on expeditions and on white dwarfs. Open the resource card to find out where it comes from and what it’s used for.

Questions and answers

How many resources are there in Xterium in total?
The game has 18 resources. They are split into 5 groups: Key Resources — 3, Energy and Science — 2, Special Resources — 4, Parts and Cores — 7, Points — 2.
What resources are there in Xterium?
The main ones are metal, crystal and deuterium; energy and science; the special ones — dark matter, antimatter, star ore and mod; achievement and experience points; as well as arsenal materials — parts, cores and stabilizers.
Where to get metal, crystal and deuterium?
Metal is mined by a metal mine, crystal — by a crystal mine, deuterium — by a deuterium synthesizer. These are the base resources for buildings, ships and defense, and deuterium is also fuel for fleet flights.
Is science spent in Xterium?
No, science is not spent. The more of it you have, the faster research progresses in the laboratory — science works like research speed, not as a spendable stock.
What is energy for?
Energy is not stored — it works as a balance: it is produced by power plants and consumed by mines and buildings. When energy is short, resource production on the planet drops.
What are parts and cores in Xterium?
These are arsenal materials for improving weapon and ship upgrades. Parts (control module, distributor, reactor) are found in the “Hostile” sector, cores of class I–III drop from bosses, and stabilizers are obtained from dismantling failed upgrades.
Where can I find star ore?
Star ore is a very rare material. It is found in the expedition (the “Hostile” sector) and mined on the surface of cooled white dwarfs.
