Anomalies are special properties of planets and moons in Xterium. Each anomaly provides a permanent bonus: it boosts resource production, energy, science, defense, or construction speed.

The bonus increases as the anomaly level rises: each level has its own bonus increase. The base level cap is 600 (the values listed on the cards are for this cap). Beyond that, Overlock Stars (additional upgrades) raise the cap even higher—up to 4,700 levels—and the bonus increases accordingly.

Bonuses from the same anomaly on the planet and on the moon stack. Anomalies are grouped by what they enhance. Open the anomaly card to see the exact values by level.

Works on its own planet or moon

Each anomaly boosts only the planet/moon it sits on — place them by role.

Planet and moon stack

The same anomaly on a planet and its moon sums up — build combos toward one goal.

Upgraded with star ore — at a risk

Up to 4 stars (100 ore) — safe. Higher — a failed upgrade can drop it to zero.

Priority picks

Ancient technologies (science) and Quantum gravity (dark matter) — upgrade first.

Production and Resources

5

They increase the production of metal, crystals, and deuterium, as well as the size of the reserve and storage facilities.

Energy

4

They increase energy production at power plants and satellites and reduce deuterium consumption in fusion reactors.

Science

2

The Laboratory and Technopolis are accelerating scientific progress.

Defense and Combat

6

Defense and Combat Bonuses: Attack, Shields, Armor in Defense, Regeneration, Moon Protection.

Construction Speed

2

They speed up the construction of the fleet and defenses.

Special Effects

4

Espionage, Collider, Teleport, Phalanx, and other targeted bonuses.

Questions and answers

How many anomalies are there in Xterium in total?
The game has 23 anomalies. They are split into 6 groups: Production and Resources — 5, Energy — 4, Science — 2, Defense and Combat — 6, Special Effects — 4, Construction Speed — 2.
Where do anomalies appear — on a planet or a moon?
Of 23 anomalies, 10 appear only on a planet, 5 only on a moon, and 8 can appear both on a planet and on a moon. In the reference, each anomaly is marked with the matching “Planet” and “Moon” icons.
What do anomalies boost in Xterium?
Anomalies grant bonuses to resource mining, energy output, research, defense and building speed, and some anomalies give special effects. All anomalies are split into 6 groups by bonus type.
How does an anomaly on a planet differ from one on a moon?
These are different places where they appear. Some anomalies occur only on a planet, some only on a moon, and some in both places. The bonus itself depends on the specific anomaly, not on whether it is a planet or a moon. If the same anomaly appears on both a planet and a moon, their bonuses stack.
How does an anomaly bonus grow and what are overlock stars?
The bonus depends on the anomaly's level — each one has its own gain per level. The base maximum is 600 levels (the values shown in the cards are for it). Beyond that, overlock stars kick in (extra leveling): they raise the cap above 600 levels — up to 4700, and the bonus grows proportionally. The exception is “Ultra-cold Fusion”: it cannot be leveled with overlocks, max 600 levels.
