A teleport is a structure on the moon that allows you to instantly move your fleet from one of your moons to another, without a long flight. It’s very convenient when you need to quickly gather forces at a single location or, conversely, move your fleet out of harm’s way. Let’s break down how it works—using numbers straight from the game’s code.
Where do these numbers come from? The values (cooldown times by level, anomaly effects, limits) are taken from the game code—the building, configuration, and anomaly files. Explanations in plain language and tactical advice come from the player community (wiki, forum thread). Some details aren’t confirmed in the code—they’re honestly marked below as “not found in the code.”
What Exactly Does Teleport Do?
The teleporter transports your fleet between your moons. According to the in-game description, these are “artificial wormholes in orbit around objects with minimal gravity”—which is why the structure can only be built on a moon, not on a planet.
Important game rules:
- You must have at least two moons, and a Teleport must be built on both of them—otherwise, there's nowhere to teleport to.
- To use the transfer, there must be a fleet at the sending moon.
- Teleporting your fleet becomes impossible if an attack on your planet is less than 30 seconds away. This is a safeguard to prevent you from hiding your fleet at the last minute.
For this reason, the Teleport is a tool for logistics and defense: it isn't used to "transport resources across the empire," but rather to quickly move warships between moons.
Charging time: from 2 hours to ~4 minutes
After each use, the Teleport goes into recharge mode (cooldown). The main thing that changes with the building's level is the recharge time, which is significantly reduced as you level up:
- Level 1 — recharge time: 7,200 seconds (that's 2 hours).
- After that, the time drops rapidly: approximately 7,200 → 6,000 → 5,000 → 4,200 → 3,500 seconds in the early levels.
- Level 20 (maximum) — just 225 seconds (less than 4 minutes).
In other words, the basic Teleport can be used infrequently (once every couple of hours), while the upgraded version can be used almost constantly. That’s why Teleport is upgraded by players who need to quickly move their fleet between moons.
How an anomaly speeds up recharging
On each moon, you can study anomalies—special bonuses. Among them is an anomaly that reduces the teleport cooldown.
What is known about the anomalies from the game code:
- On each planet and moon, you can select up to 5 anomalies.
- Each analysis of an anomaly takes 15 minutes.
- The "Teleport Recharge" anomaly is available specifically on the Moon (in the same set as "Collider Harvest" and "Moon Defense").
By leveling up this anomaly, you further reduce the Teleport’s cooldown beyond the effect provided by the building’s level. We didn’t find a precise “formula in minutes” for each anomaly level in the code—it only stores the amplification coefficient, not the final time—so we’re not providing specific numbers here to avoid making things up.
What Teleport Doesn't Have (It's Important Not to Confuse the Two)
There's some confusion surrounding teleportation in Xterium, so let's clarify this based on the game's code:
- The teleport doesn't transport resources. The structure moves fleets between moons, not metal, crystals, or deuterium between planets. There is a transport fleet for moving resources.
- "The teleportation discount" refers to something else. The game has a separate mechanic—teleporting the planet itself (via the planetarium)—and that mechanic does indeed have discounts from rewards and factions. This discount does not apply to the Teleport building (for fleet teleportation)—there is no discount for the building itself in the code.
How to Apply This
- Upgrade Teleport for faster cooldown. At max level, the cooldown drops from 2 hours to ~4 minutes—that’s the building’s main benefit.
- Build a Teleport on at least two moons—otherwise, you won't have anywhere to move your fleet.
- Don't count on hiding your fleet at the last minute: fleet teleportation is blocked 30 seconds before an attack.
- The "Teleport Recharge" anomaly is a nice bonus if you use teleportation often.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does Teleport transfer to Xterium? The fleet travels between your moons—instantly, without flying. It doesn't carry any resources.
Where is the Teleport being built? Only on the moon. To use teleportation, you need at least two moons, and both must have a Teleport on them.
How long does it take for the Teleport to recharge? It depends on the building's level: at level 1, it takes 7,200 seconds (2 hours); at the maximum level (20), it takes 225 seconds (less than 4 minutes).
Is it possible to teleport a fleet during an attack? No. If there are less than 30 seconds left before the battle on your planet, it is no longer possible to teleport your fleet.
Does Teleport offer a discount on transfers? No, there is no discount for the Teleport building in the game code. The discount applies to a separate mechanic—teleporting the planet itself through the planetarium—which is not the same thing.
